How to import contacts to PipeOne

Importing your contacts into PipeOne is a quick and straightforward process. Follow these simple steps to ensure all your contact information is uploaded correctly and efficiently.

Step 1: Prepare your CSV file

  • Make sure your contacts are saved in a CSV file.

  • You can download a template CSV file directly from the PipeOne import menu to ensure your data is formatted correctly.

  • Each column should represent a specific field, such as name, tags, phone number, email, etc.

Step 2: Access the import menu

  • Go to the PipeOne menu.

  • Navigate to Contacts > Import Contacts.

Step 3: Upload your file

  • Click to select your CSV file.

  • The system will prompt you to map each column in your CSV to the corresponding PipeOne fields (for example: name, tags, phone, email).

  • If you have more information to add (like company, birthday, or custom fields), click on Show more fields to map additional data.

Step 4: Map your fields

  • Carefully associate each CSV column with the correct PipeOne field.

  • This ensures that all information appears in the right place for each contact.

  • If your CSV includes extra columns you do not want to import, you can choose to ignore them during this step.

Step 5: Import and confirm

  • After mapping, confirm your choices and start the import.

  • Wait a few moments for the process to complete.

  • Once finished, check your contacts list to ensure all data has been imported correctly.

Optional: update and overwrite existing contacts

During the import process, PipeOne offers an option:

Would you like to update and overwrite all existing contact information in PipeOne, using the cell phone number as the primary key and the email address as a secondary key for contacts without a phone number?

What does this mean?

  • If you choose this option, PipeOne will look for existing contacts that match the phone number in your CSV file.

  • If a match is found, all the information for that contact will be updated (overwritten) with the new data from your file.

  • If a contact does not have a phone number, PipeOne will use the email address as a secondary way to find and update the contact.

  • This helps keep your contact list up to date and avoids creating duplicate entries.

Note: Use this option carefully, as it will replace existing contact information with the new data you provide.

By following these steps, you can efficiently import and organize your contacts in PipeOne, ensuring your database is accurate and ready to use.
